Our methodology involves multiple steps:
WITH Motorized CAPTURE
Acquire 50 RGB images and 50 depth captures, separated at 7.2 degree angles. Precise movement is ensured with a motorized tripod. Ensure that each image passes a quality threshold. If not, re-acquire.
COLORIZED POINT CLOUDS
- Leverage the captured frames to generate 50 colorized point clouds.
- Remove noise and any outlier points in each scan
- Downsample the image and grouping nearby points
"Stitch" it all together
Leverage a modified ICP algorithm to stitch the images together. Utilize known angles and RGB information for superior reconstruction.
READY FOR CREATION
Scan automatically deploys to your creation tool of choice, whether that is UE4, Unity, WebVR, or simply an OBJ file with the associated textures.
